Wine Course Introduction
The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is intended for people who have little or no prior knowledge of wines. It is designed to provide a sound but simple introduction to the subject.
Students will be led through some fundamental wine theory and participate in engaging practical activities after which they will sit a 30 question multiple choice exam.
WSET Level 3 Award in Wines
Wine Course Introduction
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is useful for those who have a general interest in wine and wish to broaden their knowledge.
Successful candidates will be able to describe and compare the styles of wines produced from internationally and regionally important grape varieties, interpret wine labels from the main wine producing regions of the world and understand the principles of wine tasting and evaluation.
The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is designed to give a thorough understanding of the factors that account for the style, quality and price of the principal still, sparkling and fortified wines of the world.
The qualification will assist those who are required to make professional evaluations of wines with regards to their style, quality and price.
Successful candidates will be able to describe the characteristics of the principal wines of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and price. They will consequently be in a position to make informed selections of wines in a variety of situations.
